ADOR used the word "preparing" in an official statement — and that’s the first real project-level language we’ve gotten from the label. It lands while the Source Music hearing is still on the docket. NewJeans Daily. Okay, we finally have something official to argue about — and yeah, "new musical narrative" is already doing a lot of work. We’re going to break down what ADOR actually confirmed, what Complex slipped into the story without the label’s sign-off, and why that Copenhagen detail just got a lot more important. Complex writes:
In a statement shared with The Chosun Daily, ADOR wrote: “The visit to Copenhagen was part of the preproduction process to capture NewJeans' new musical narrative.” They added, “The NewJeans members are currently preparing for activities according to their individual conditions and optimized schedules."
ADOR has now confirmed to The Chosun Daily that the Copenhagen trip — the one we’ve been treating as travel fact all week — was, quote, "part of the preproduction process to capture NewJeans' new musical narrative." So yes, that’s the first project-level language from the label. But it still doesn’t tell us lineup, release window, or format. Okay, so we were right — comeback talk has turned into confirmed Copenhagen preproduction. That’s the gear shift. But I do need to flag what Complex did in the headline: "formerly a quintet." That is not ADOR’s language. The label said "new musical narrative" and named zero members. And the photo Complex ran is Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. Three members. So now you’ve got a mainstream Western outlet quietly canonizing a reduced lineup right when the label’s own statement leaves the door procedurally open. That tension is the story today. "New musical narrative" is doing a lot of work for four words. It gives us a creative frame, sure. It does not tell us whether Minji or Danielle are in it — and the Copenhagen eyewitness data we’ve had since Korea Herald still only puts three members in that room.
