BLACKPINK’s Data Footprint Stays Stadium-Sized (June 23, 2026)

June 23, 2026 · 2m 30s · Listen

Two follower spikes in one month, a chart that just refreshed Sunday, and not a single press release to explain either. So what set May on fire? This is BLACKPINK Daily, and today it's just us and a Chartmetric dashboard — which sounds thin until you see the numbers on it. We're digging into what the platform data actually says before anybody starts calling July. Let's start with May 5. Chartmetric has the details on this one. Two Spotify follower spikes on BLACKPINK's Chartmetric page, both in May. May 5 — 33,402 new followers, 171.1% above a normal day. Then May 18 — 30,540, 102.8% over baseline. And this dashboard refreshed June 21 — two days ago. So for once, the freshest thing in front of us is actually fresh. I'll take it. Okay, but May 5 is the day after the Met Gala OT4 moment on the 4th. The bigger spike lands the morning after they're all in one frame again. That's not nothing, Cera. Could be. I'm more stuck on the May 18 spike three weeks later — that's not a same-day reaction. Something sustained the attention, or a second thing dropped. Or it's DEADLINE tour-leg chatter rippling through. Either way — 171% then 103% in one month? That's a fandom that mobilizes on a visual. And the label didn't schedule a thing around it. Careful — we're staring at a two-day-old dashboard with no headline attached. I'd want to map those dates against Jennie's Dracula Hot 100 run before I crown a cause. Cross-traffic from the solo lane is just as plausible as the reunion photo. Fair. If the group account spikes the same week Jennie's charting solo, those lanes are feeding each other — and that's why the catalog still pulls. JUMP's sitting at 632.5 million streams; the platform attention is real.
