Jennie cracking the Hot 100 top ten and Lisa booking the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony? BLACKPINK is absolutely not easing into summer. This is the BLACKPINK Daily Podcast, and today is basically a highlight reel. Jennie and Tame Impala are making real noise on the US charts, and Lisa is headed to the biggest sports stage on the planet. First story up right after this. OT4 solo domination is very real, and I am not hearing any objections. Here's Báo Lao Động:
The remix "Dracula" rose to 10th place on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Jennie and Tame Impala's first song to enter the top 10 of this chart.
The new achievement helps Jennie become the second Blackpink member to reach the top 10 Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist. Previously, Rosé reached 3rd place thanks to the "APT." collaboration with Bruno Mars last year.
Jennie and Tame Impala's "Dracula" just hit number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, and that is a huge deal. She's now the second BLACKPINK member with a solo top-ten on that chart, after Rosé's "APT." peaked at three last year. Two BLACKPINK members in the Hot 100 top ten as solo artists. Two. And the company that couldn't manage a clean group comeback rollout somehow ended up building one of the most impressive solo résumés in fourth-gen K-pop. "Dracula" is also sitting at number one on both Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs at the same time. That's the part that makes this collab with Tame Impala feel different from a standard K-pop crossover single. And BLACKPINK just joined Destiny's Child, The Runaways, The Go-Go's, and Fifth Harmony as the only girl groups with two members who own solo top-ten Hot 100 hits. Just sit with that list for a second. Sumit Rajguru, writing in Times Now:
Recently, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has officially confirmed the lineup of artists who will be performing at the opening ceremony of FIFA World Cup 2026. Interestingly, many Hollywood singers will perform at the event. But one name that grabbed everyone’s attention is K-pop group BLACKPINK’s Lisa. The diva will join Katy Perry, Rema and others for the much-awaited event of this year.
FIFA officially confirmed the opening ceremony lineup for World Cup 2026, and Lisa is on it. She's the first female South Korean artist to perform at a FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. That's FIFA's own announcement, not fan speculation. Katy Perry, Rema, and Lisa on the same stage? June 11 cannot get here fast enough. And the fact that she's doing this solo on the biggest sporting stage on the planet? BLACKPINK girlies, we are not small. One thing to keep straight: there are three host countries and three ceremonies. We're still waiting on the full breakdown of which artists perform where, so don't assume Lisa is at all three until FIFA says that specifically. Cassidy being responsible again, love it, hate it. But yeah, history is history, no matter how many stages she ends up on. Got thoughts on today's BLACKPINK update, a story idea, or a correction we should see?
