Matchweek six really shook up the NWSL table. Portland is up top, Washington Spirit and Gotham both had perfect weeks, and the bottom of the league looks genuinely messy. From an Angel City angle, this is where separation starts to happen. Portland jumping to number one is real — Moultrie’s finishing, that road win at Chicago, that’s not a fluke. But honestly, the chaos at the bottom is almost more interesting. If ACFC isn’t taking advantage when the schedule opens up, that’s on them. I'm thrilled for my Thorns. I do, whoever, question the use of the word "surge" in the headline. We were previously 2 and now we are 1. That doesn't scream surge to me. I’ll be honest, the "Angel City" branding doing double duty here can get confusing. But the Games themselves are a real community event — Full Circle Movement, The Athlete’s Corner, adaptive athletes getting hands-on with actual prosthetic tech. That’s not just optics. The LA28 runway is real leverage for anything happening in this city right now, and Angel City Sports is using it.
