“There's pissing the league and then there is whatever this is. 1.56 G/A per game. Christ” — r/soccer (838 upvotes)
Our take: We’re with this: 1.56 goal contributions per game is not just “best player in the league” stuff, it’s video-game difficulty left on beginner. The wild part is that everyone knows exactly where the ball wants to go, and it still keeps getting there.
“Finding Messi at first place isn't that surprising (the difference of 30 games very much is though), but I didn't expect Giovinco to be the one dethroned.” — r/soccer (595 upvotes)
Our take: That Giovinco detail is a great MLS-history reminder, because his Toronto run was genuinely outrageous and not just a footnote. Messi being first makes sense; Messi deleting a record held by that version of Giovinco by 31 games is the jaw-dropper.
“I think it’s really important to recognize that while MLS is not on par with the top European leagues, it has had its fair share of talent come through and impress. Other big names flopped. What Messi has accomplished in this league is on an entirely different planet. I’m trying…” — r/soccer (79 upvotes)
Our take: This is the right middle ground: MLS is not La Liga, but it is absolutely good enough that stars can struggle if they coast. Messi hasn’t coasted — and yes, the fact that the comparison turns into “maybe Zlatan, if you ignore assists” says everything.

- Why are the games this season mostly on Saturday nights? — r/InterMiami (6 pts, 6 comments)
Maybe I'm crazy but I definitely remember inter Miami games being on week days nights more regularly before, which was really convenient because I'm mostly home on work nights and I was able to catch the games pretty easily. This season however I've noticed games are on Saturday nights a lot. Don't get me wrong I'm a Miami fan but if I'm forced to pick between watching a game or going out on a…
