Our take: We get the frustration: Chawinga’s hat trick does not need a male sports-celebrity translation layer to matter. The Mahomes nod is a fun local crossover, but the headline should still be Temwa, full stop.

Our take: Honestly, the rotating-Temwa rule is the kind of fake reform the rest of the league might quietly endorse after watching that hat trick. Angel City would absolutely like to borrow her for one week, strictly in the interest of competitive balance.

Our take: That is the best possible first-game experience if you are a neutral, and a very long afternoon if you are Chicago. When a team is hitting posts and still winning 3-0, the scoreline may actually be polite.
